Motherland
Motherland combines contemporary dance, object action and lyrical texts. Nhung Dang and her collective explore forms of parenthood inspired by the animal world, cultural myths and their own imagination. Androgynous and posthuman images of the body challenge established ideas of motherhood and gender roles. The work asks whether motherhood can exist outside mothers’ bodies and who can take on the role of a caring being.
