HYB4 Galerie: Vladimír Houdek: Třetí krajina | Vernisáž

A new exhibition project by one of the distinctive figures of contemporary Czech painting, growing out of a long-running dialogue with art history and the Romantic landscape painting of Caspar David Friedrich. The show presents a series of paintings in which landscape becomes a space of inner experience, memory and a shifting relationship between the individual and the surrounding world. Houdek treats painting as a living process of searching, where each canvas opens a new perspective and builds on the ones before it. The exhibition's inaugural image is Caspar David Friedrich's The Chasseur in the Forest (1814), whose solitary figure amid a monumental landscape becomes, here, an image of human existence.
