Gorila
What happens when you shut a gorilla inside a typical Czech panel-flat bedsit? This solo devised piece brings together two seemingly different worlds: a person pushed to the very edge of their own humanity meets the purity and instinct of their closest animal relative. It isn't immediately clear who is more naive, or who has actually lost their way — the animal suddenly dropped into an unnatural, foreign environment, or the human telling the story. The author tangles himself in the surrealism of his own script, and the gorilla tries to untangle itself from the predicament he invented for it, while the human searches for a way back to nature and the gorilla explores what it means to be human.
