I Am Romantically Scattering My Own Ashes

Studio Hrdinů · Dukelských hrdinů 47, Praha 7

This stage essay freely adapts the late work of French philosopher and semiologist Roland Barthes. It draws chiefly on Camera Lucida and his reflections on photography, memory, certainty and forgetting. The production also uses excerpts from Roland Barthes by Roland Barthes and Journal de deuil. It translates Barthes's fragmentary mode of thought into theatre, attending to singular details, contingencies and the shifting relationship between a person and their own past.
