Memory of Touch: Chapter I

The first substantial presentation of the Kunsthalle Praha collection, unfolding across two chapters. The exhibition treats the collection as an open, evolving entity, setting modernist, post-war and contemporary works in dialogue with invited artists from the Czech scene whose positions open it outward. Chapter I is devoted to fragility and vulnerability as aesthetic and political strategies revealed through the conceptual, visual and material dimensions of an artwork. These are not passive states but active forces through which artists of different generations reshape forms and ideas. Resonances arise between early avant-garde experiments, post-war practices marked by censorship, and contemporary works with their disordered narratives, unstable materials and fragmented bodies.
