First Friday: Intro to Letterpress with Jes Hughes

Printer and Poster House educator Jes Hughes leads an introduction to wood type and letterpress printing, inspired by the letterpress posters in the museum's current exhibitions. Participants learn the basics of typesetting with real wood type, compose their own design, and print it on a Provisional Press to take home. Hughes trained in fine art printmaking at Massachusetts College of Art and Design and Pratt Institute and has studied printing history across Europe.
