Quacks & Whacks: A Cancer Comedy
Quacks & Whacks is a one-act play using absurdist humor, clowning, puppetry, music, and animation to portray the struggles and triumphs of navigating the American healthcare system. It follows Sharon, a middle school teacher, alongside a colorful cast of cancer cells who sing, dance, and travel through her body, as she encounters overworked receptionists and eccentric doctors while seeking effective screening and humane care. The play was written by the mother-daughter team of Terry and Amanda Miller, inspired by Terry's own experience living with a stage 4 cancer diagnosis for over three years. A patient advocacy panel follows the performance.
