And Scene pairs scripted actors with unscripted improvisers: the actors are given a scene and lines to learn, while the improvisers receive nothing and must invent their half on the spot. New York performers from Broadway, television and beyond act out scenes ranging from Mamet to Moliere, with actor Mick Szal joined by improvisers Alex Dickson and Brian Furey. The format, inspired by Stephen Ruddy, was originally performed as Gravid Water at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre.
